Horrible experience with this store. My mother was so excited to get a new couch for her new home and had the worst experience here. She paid for her deposit to hold the couch until her carpet came in. Art Van called her and threatened her to pay the rest before her due date or else they would sell it out from under her. She gladly paid it. Then they gave her the incorrect section on the sectional. She called to discuss the mishap and the lady manager was rude,curt and undermining her. They still have not corrected the situation and I just want others to know what kind of experience she had gone through just for one couch. NEVER WILL BUY FROM HERE AGAIN.
Unfortunately, I cannot give his place of "business" zero stars. They are so inconvenient with deliveries. They called me at 6am on the day of delivery to tell me that they damaged the head board of the new bed, they then went on to delivery the damaged head board and said they would reschedule a new delivery date for an even exchange of a new head board. Fast forward one month later and after multiple calls, they deliver the head board. In the mean time the bed frame is falling apart. My boyfriend who is a carpenter noticed they did not install the parts properly.
The lack of communication and lack of follow through from salesperson and management has completely undermined my trust in this location. If a person tells a customer they will call back then there should be a call. If a manager takes over because the salesperson dropped the ball but also doesn't call or email after over a week of saying he would....well now I understand where the salesperson learned this behavior.
I went in there with my girlfriend to buy a tv console, a side table and patio furniture. We were greeted by their salesman, Tyler, who seemed nice at first. We told him we wanna look around and decide our price range but he kept pestering us every few minutes. Then, in the nicest possible way, he advises us to get some super cheap stuff at Wal-Mart if we do not have a price range in mind.
We got fed up and ended up going to sofa mart opposite to them and spent about $1400 on furniture.
Stay away! I will never shop there again. We wanted to know when the bedroom furniture sale was going to be over so we asked the manager if that dept. He could not tell us an end date. As soon as we started to leave he ask if we were going to the OTHER STORES to LOOK? I said of coarse we wanted to look around. He then started slandering all the stores in this area, how crappy their furniture is and how they never have their items in stock and Art Van always had items I stock and only 2 weeks to deliver. Total turn off and rude. We left and did return 2 days later to purchase a bedroom set my daughter loved. Had a great experience with Jake, he rang up my sale and out he door. Long story short....this was in July, come mid September we still have not received our order that was paid in full! The day we were suppose to get a free delivery and set up(cuz of all the problems I haven't mentioned with bedroom manger) I was called and asked to reschedule delivery cuz bed rails had not come in this was #2 this had happened. I asked the lady was she would she guarantee they will be there 2 days later and she would never answer me. We then went for a refund! The lady doing the refund then said we had picked up a piece of furniture that we need to return for full refund, we have seen no furniture.
I am so disappointed with my recent experience at the Art Van in Toledo, OH. I understand that mistakes happens however in my line of work (retail management) when we do not provide our customers with excellent customer service then we can expect to lose our customers.
I want the piece of furniture I paid for and after that, I now have zero intention of ever shopping there and I will probably never recommend this store to anyone. Great job Art Van! Keep it up.
